Fightning with big yellowfin tuna is hard work

Marlin is the most sought-after catch in the waters of Mauritius.

Of the seven varieties of marlin, blue marlin is the most common. Black marlins are also caught, but more occasionally. The best marlin season runs from November to February, but marlins are caught in all seasons.

The best season for yellowfin tuna is March and April. Yellowfin tuna can grow up over 200 kg. 50 to 90 kg are common catches. Barracuda, wahoo, bonito, various mackerel species, dorado and other deep sea fish species also provide great fishing moments.


The fishing trip is always tailored to the customer's wishes. It is possible to fish several species with different fishing methods during the same trip. For example, when moving from one fishing site to another, focus is to catch marlin while also tuna and smaller fish are possible.


The excursion takes 4-8 hours. The total price for a four-hour fishing trip is  € 250.


The five-hour fishing trip costs € 275.


The six-hour fishing trip costs € 300.


The nine-hour fishing trip costs € 350.

Soft drinks are included in the price.

Prices are for the whole trip, the maximum number of people is 5. The price / person decreases as the group grows.


For a fishing trip, you might want to bring sun lotion, sunglasses, cap and some snacks with you. To keep your snacks cooler, place couple of bottles of water the previous night in the freezer and bring them in the morning in your lunch bag.
